What are the material available for selection?

Hi,
Material is the medium that you want your output to be in ..for example fabric, tarpaulin, vinyl, sticker, trans, canvas, foil etc..
There are hundreds of brands to choose from or even OEM material..So, what a printer see when choosing what material to buy for printing?
The answer is what ink that you are using ..The ink are basically in 4 categories (UV, solvent , pigment & dye based)..
So , you have to understand what ink goes well with what material before ordering them...check back for more..TQ

Which Large Format Inkjet Printers are the best to purchase?

Hi,
This is a tricky question to answer..The definite answer for the question is "depends". There is really no one best machine for the job unless you can answer the below questions:
1) What is my budget?
2) What is my daily print volume?
3) What do I want to print?
4) What is the purpose of my prints? Billboards? Indoor stickers?
5) What price levels can I sell my prints? Premium? Cheap?

The above questions will determine your printer to buy....Will talk more on the usual brands in Large Format Inkjet Printing....like Roland, HP, Mimaki, Mutoh, Scitek Vision, Nur etc

What DPI to choose?

Hi again,
Large Format Printing is for viewing from a distance becasue the prints are mostly large in sizes, so you have to stand at quite a distance before you can properly see it. The DPI to choose will depend on the application & placement of the prints..Is it for outdoor or indoor usage?

For Indoor, we will go for min of 600 dpi - 1200 dpi. Outdoor would require min of 300 -600 dpi depending of whether its a billboard or banner..

General rule would be lower resolution for further distance viewing..pls comment..

What is DPI?

Dear All,
Many people are confused when asked about what DPI they want for their print? It's like asking how you want your steak done up....DPI= dot per inch...referring to the ink density per inch..
I would say most of the time we will choose the highest dpi for print which is at currently acceptable industry level of 1200 - 1440 dpi depending on the printer brands.
We don't need those high dpi 90% of the time...come back next 2 days to check for new posts if you want to learn why printers are ripping you off 90% of the time...
Its all in the secretive 3 little letters - DPI....
